WELCOME TO THE WATCH HOUSE

​

Formerly the home of a local lobster fisherman, The Watch House is available to rent in July and August each year.

​

Stay at our C17th home and enjoy amazing views of Bolt Tail, harbour beach and the breakwater from this beach front property.  There is plenty of comfortable space (sleeps 6) for those craving fresh air, watersports and cliff top walks or for families looking for a beach holiday.

​

The house consists of 3 bedrooms (king, twin & bunk), large kitchen diner, family bathroom, and upstairs sitting room with log burner.  There is also a bootroom and downstairs lavatory.

​

The village of Hope Cove in south Devon is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is on the South West Coastal Path.  Nearby are the popular towns of Salcombe, Kingsbridge and Dartmouth.

​

Whether you want to prepare a feast of your own with wonderful local produce in the well-equipped kitchen or eat out at one of the local award winning bars or restaurants in the area, there are lots of options in the village and nearby.

South West Coastal Path

 

Wander the beautiful cliff path to Salcombe along Bolt Tail or across to Thurlestone or Bantham.

Cultural Sites

 

National Trust and English Heritage  both have sites within a short drive.  The wilds of Dartmoor are also nearby.

Burgh Island 

 

Walk across or catch the sea tractor, visit the famous art-deco hotel or have a drink at the smuggler's pub - the Pilchard Inn

Food Lovers

 

Lobster or crab available fresh from the beach, or visit the award winning bar in the village, there are also excellent beach bars and restaurants in Kingsbridge and Salcombe.

Watersports

 

Sailing, SUP, kayaks, snorkelling - all are available to hire locally
